Menstrual Hygiene

🌺IAP Mumbai EB member, Dr Jagruti Sanghvi was invited by Garodia International Centre for Learning, Mumbai to address the adolescent girls of an underprivileged area on the topic of “Menstrual Hygiene.”

🌺35 girls of an underprivileged area between 10-15 years age from Ramabai Colony, Ghatkopar attended the session. Most of the younger girls had no idea about menstruation. Right from explanation of the menstrual cycle to busting myths related to menstruation, the session saw change in the mindset of the girls. The girls asked many questions to Dr Jagruti Sanghvi, who also discussed various hygiene practices related to the use and disposal of sanitary pads.

🌺The session ended with a video reiterating the normalcy of getting “periods” and distribution of sanitary napkins by the IBDP students of Garodia International school.
