Bye Bye Anemia and Breathe Free Yatra

🌺On 7th February 2025, Team IAP Mumbai had the opportunity to host the “Bye Bye Anemia and Breathe Free Yatra” bus under the leadership of CIAP Presdent Dr Vasant Khalatkar at Shri D J Doshi Gurukul English Medium High school at Ghatkopar, as a part of World Anemia Prevention Day and National Deworming Day.

🌺The camp began with an Anemia Prevention Awareness Talk by Dr Jagruti Sanghvi. She had also self-composed a song on Anemia Prevention for this occasion. 250 students of standard 7 were clinically screened by Dr Nehal Shah, Dr Sikha Agarwal, Dr Rachna Keshwani, Dr Anita Patil, Dr Neha Nabar and Dr Jagruti Sanghvi, out of which 150 students underwent a non-invasive Hb estimation. 20-30% students were detected anemic and were advised further evaluation and iron supplements. Deworming was advised to all students. Few students underwent PEFR estimation of which 5-6 students were advised further evaluation. The students were couselled for iron rich diet and healthy lifestyle for prevention of anemia. IAP Mumbai distributed healthy peanut and sesame chikkis to the students and staff members of Gurukul school.

🌺The school principal, managing director and the teachers were very grateful to Indian Academy of Pediatrics and felt immensely benefited from the camp.

🌺The campaign was coordinated by Dr Jagruti Sanghvi and Dr Sikha Agarwal on behalf of IAP Mumbai.
