World Breastfeeding Week

🌺The Department of Pediatrics, TNMC and BYL Nair Hospital in collaboration with IAP Mumbai and MBPC celebrated the World Breastfeeding Week in the form of 2 half day workshops with MMC points for the postgraduate residents on the 18 and 25 August, 2025.

🌺The workshop was inaugurated by Dean Dr Shailesh Mohit & HOD & Professor Dr Surbhi Rathi with all the faculties of the Department of Pediatrics.

🌺It covered various aspects of Breastfeeding by expert faculty Dr Kailas Randad Associate Professor & In-Charge NICU, Dr Sushma Malik ex HOD and Professor, Dr Akash Sarkate Assistant Professor NICU, Dr Neha Bhongale,Assistant Professor and Manju Verma Lactation Consultant.

🌺Day 2 of the workshop started with recap of the 1st day topics by Dr Sushma Save, Professor Additional, followed by other topics taken by Dr Poonam Wade, Professor Additional, Dr Alpana Kondekar, Assistant Professor, Dr Jaya Khatri, Senior Resident and Dr Amrita Mehta, Assistant Professor.

🌺The workshop had interesting case studies and role plays with active participation from the students, and faculty as well. It was highly appreciated by all the attendees.

🌺A total of 65 participants from the departments of Pediatrics, Community Medicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy actively engaged in the program.

🌺The entire program was coordinated by Dr Sushma Save and Dr Jaya Khatri, with the support and encouragement from Dr Surbhi Rathi and Dean Dr Shailesh Mohite.
