Anemia Mukt Bharat

🌺To make “Anemia Mukt Bharat” a reality, a small step was taken by IAP Mumbai.

🌺 IAP Mumbai conducted an informative session on Anemia for the healthcare workers and caretakers of the BalAsha Trust, Mahalakshmi, a shelter home for abandoned, surrendered and orphaned children.

🌺Dr Nehal Shah introduced the session in Marathi and explained the importance of Anemia Awareness.

🌺Dr Reepa Agrawal discussed about Anemia in detail in Hindi and Marathi with the help of a pictoral powerpoint in an interactive manner. Special emphasis was laid on deficiency anemia as well as worm infestation. The audience were sensitized about the need for regular deworming, picking up symptoms suggestive of Anemia and iron and Vit C fortified diet to prevent Anemia.

🌺Dr Nehal Shah summed up the key messages using charts made by IAP Mumbai and Govt.of India.

🌺To reiterate Anemia Awareness, special laminated charts were handed over to the trust for display. Iron tablets and syrups and Albendazole syrups were distributed for use for the children.

🌺The session was attended by around 21 staff members and paramedicals of the centre involved in child care.

🌺The entire session was organised by Dr Nehal Shah on behalf of Team IAP Mumbai.
