1 meal daily for 150 underprivileged children
🌺Nutrition is the only remedy that can bring full recovery. Food is our best medicine.
“The doctor of future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but will rather prevent and cure disease with GOOD NUTRITION”
🌺On the occasion of IAP Child and Adolescent Health Care Week celebrations, IAP Mumbai took up a project of supporting 1 meal daily for 150 underprivileged children from the Burma shell railway line slum, Kurla for a period of 1 month.
🌺After procuring the essentials and ensuring hygeinic cooking conditions, fresh and nutritionally appropriate meals are served to the children at 2 community study centres at two time slots in batches of around 30 children. These children finish the meal served to them under supervision, before going for their classes. Dr Nehal Shah, Dr Amruta Shirodkar and Dr Harvinder Palaha visited the centre and participated in the program; various EB members will continue to visit and supervise from time to time.
🌺The program was co ordinated by Dr Nehal Shah on behalf of IAP Mumbai.
