Awareness about Gender-based Violence

🌺To create Awareness about Gender-based Violence (against women), IAP Mumbai participated in an interactive session with the adolescent girl students of SVT College of Home Science at SNDT Women’s University at Santacruz on 5th December 2025.

🌺Around 100 adolescent girls (17-20 years age) participated actively in the session that was initially addressed by psychologist Kejal Jasani and by the Nirbhaya Squad of Santacruz Police Station.

🌺Dr Jagruti Sanghvi of IAP Mumbai instilled the importance of self-reliance and fearlessness in young girls, by asserting the need to learn self-defence techniques to be mentally and physically prepared for any untoward physical or sexual abuse. State and National Taekwondo gold medallist and Best Player at Khelo Games, *Ms Nyla Khan, along with her colleague Durva demonstrated Self-Defence Techniques, that saw active participation by all the students.

🌺The event was coordinated by Dr Jagruti Sanghvi on behalf of team IAP Mumbai and Dr Bhavna Patel on behalf of Inner Wheel Club of Bombay West and Indian Medical Association Mumbai West.
