Basic Life Support (BLS) and IAP Advanced Life Support (IAP ALS) course

🌺 IAP Mumbai, in collaboration with SRCC Children’s Hospital, Mahalaxmi, organized a Basic Life Support (BLS) and IAP Advanced Life Support (IAP ALS) course at the 1st Floor auditorium of SRCC Children’s Hospital, Mahalaxmi on 22nd and 23rd June 2024.

🌺 As usual, it was a rigorous 2-day course reinforcing the concepts of resuscitation, stabilization and team dynamics. The course was a wholesome mix of lectures and practicing of resuscitation skills on mannequins at skill stations, followed by video-based learning stations and finally a MCQ based written test and case-based evaluation stations.

🌺 As is well known, IAP has now developed its own course with an indigenous provider manual and Indian videos. Dr Shanti Thakkar (Thane) was the Course Director, Dr Lakshmi Shobhavat ,Course Co-ordinator (Mumbai), Dr Nivedita Patil (Kolhapur), Dr Geeta Bhat (Thane), Dr Rekha Solomon(Mumbai), Dr. Swikaar Panchal(Mumbai) ,Dr Balmukund( Mumbai) as other faculty.

🌺 A full complement of 40 candidates had registered for the course; however, 1 candidate could not join at the last minute. While most candidates ended up successfully completing the course and receiving certificates, a very small minority were unable to meet the standards.

The entire course was coordinated from IAP Mumbai by Dr Lakshmi Shobhavat and from SRCC Hospital by Dr Aayon Sengupta.
