Breastfeeding awareness session

🌸World Breastfeeding Week

🌸On the occasion of Breastfeeding Week , a Breastfeeding awareness session was conducted on 6/8/26 at BSES hospital, Andheri West by Dr Maithili Joshi, our member of IAP Mumbai, and Dr Pallavi Joshi gynecologist.

🌸There were about 30-35 attendees which included staff nurses, resident doctors of BSES hospital, and some new moms.

🌸 Dr Maithili Joshi and Dr Pallavi Shah spoke on importance of starting breastfeeding early, benefits of Breastfeeding for baby and mother and also the society.
She explained the Counselling about different breastfeeding positions, correct latching, adequacy of breast milk, hand expression, mechanical expression, the issues in Breastfeeding eg engorgement, cracked nipples, mastitis etc and troubleshooting
Decision making for doctors and skills development for staff nurses was stressed upon and importance of necessity to ask for help whenever needed was explained.

🌸The session was co ordinated by Dr Maithili Joshi on behalf of BSES hospital and Dr Nita Jagad on behalf of IAP Mumbai.
