Breathe Life – World Asthma Day

🌺As a part of the World Asthma Day celebrations, Department of Pediatrics, Sir JJ group of hospitals, Mumbai in collaboration with IAP Mumbai organized a session, “Breathe Life ” for the patients and parents attending the Asthma OPD on 10th May, 2024.

🌺The session began with an overview of Childhood Asthma by Dr Nehal Shah. Physiotherapist Dr Bhakti Kekare demonstrated some simple breathing exercises with the patients as volunteers in a very unique and fun filled manner. She advised the parents to take these up on a daily basis with simple equipments like the candle, balloons, straw, gloves, etc to improve their breathing efficiency and lung functions. The highlight of the program was a musical skit prepared by the NICU staff nurses. Dr Nehal Shah then distributed the star calenders with star sticker charts as a motivation to improve compliance with inhalation therapy. This was received with much enthusiasm by the children.
