Complementary Feeding Day

🌺To celebrate Complementary Feeding Day, Team IAP Mumbai conducted an Awareness Session at Sahar village Anganwadi.

🌺Dr Sikha Agarwal introduced the topic to an enthusiastic bunch of 30 mothers along with their infants and toddlers in tow. The awareness talk was conducted in great detail by Dr Jagruti Sanghvi, who explained the concept of timely, adequate, appropriate and safe complementary foods, based on WHO, IYCF and IAP guidelines. There were many practical questions from the interactive audience, some of whom attended while breastfeeding their babies. In the end, we distributed recipe booklets for protein-rich complementary foods published by IAP and also Poshan-packets consisting of moong dal, soya chunks and jaggery. The Anganwadi workers and audience appreciated the session and have invited us for more such sessions.
