Deworming, Hand hygiene and Anemia – overview

🌺IAP Mumbai conducted an awareness session on Deworming, Hand hygiene and Anemia – overview at Ali Yavar Jung Institute for Hearing and Speech impaired on the 9th Feb 2024.

🌺The Education in Charge, Ms Mathews welcomed everyone at the start.The session was conducted by Dr Harvinder Palaha Various aspects of Helminthiasis, causes, treatment and prevention were discussed in detail. The Importance of hand hygiene was specially emphasised.

🌺In the same session, an overview of anemia was also discussed with reference to its prevalence, causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
Importance of healthy diet deworming and Iron prophylaxis was emphasized.

🌺The session was attended by 45 parents with their children and 20 faculty members and the staff.
It was very well received with lot of interaction during the question hour.

🌺Albendazole tablets and syrups were distributed to the parents at the end of the session.
Illustrative Posters on Anemia and Deworming were displayed and given away to conduct more awareness sessions of the same by the teachers in future.
