Holistic care for the families of children affected with cancer

🌺As a part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month celebrations, a workshop on Holistic care for the families of children affected with cancer was organized by IAP Mumbai on 20th September, 2024 from 2.30 pm onwards at the Sion IAP office.

🌺Interactive discussions on the red flags to be identified in children with cancer on therapies, Diet in cancer patients, psychological aspects in the patients and emotional setbacks in parents, possible financial aids for therapies and the housing facilities for outstation patients were discussed in detail. Importance of routine and catch up vaccinations after therapy were reinforced to the parents.

🌺The faculty and speakers from the respective fields were Dr Priti Mehta, Pediatric Hemato-Oncologist and BMT surgeon, Dr Nehal Shah, consulting Pediatrician, Mrs Vaibhavi Vora, Mrs Kinjal Mehta and Ms Shravani Keer as Onco dietician, Onco psychologist and social worker.The program ended with tea and refreshments for all.
