National Deworming Day – Sir JJ group of hospitals

🌺The National Deworming Day was celeberated in Sir JJ group of hospitals in colloboration with IAP Mumbai in the OPD and Pediatric ward on the 9th February, 2024.

🌺JR1 Dr Ananya Mathur educated the parents and children about the importance of hand washing before cooking, eating meals, and after visiting the toilet in their local language in the OPD.
She also spoke on different types of worm infestations, their symptoms in children, and complications of heavy infestation.

🌺The technique of handwashing was explained with actual demonstration of the steps. Emphasis was laid on thoroughly soaking and washing green leafy vegetables in salt water and properly cooked non-vegetarian food.

🌺Finally, information was shared about regular deworming with anthelmintics for children and adults, on a 6 monthly basis, supported by the national program.
Colourful illustrative posters designed by IAP Mumbai were displayed in the OPD for awareness and antihelminthic tablets and syrups were distributed for use to all.

🌺The staff nurses spoke on Deworming and Personal Hygiene to the patients and parents in the Pediatric wards.

🌺The program was co ordinated by Dr Bela Verma on behalf of Team IAP Mumbai.
