Neurodiversity in School Children

🌺IAP Mumbai conducted a session named “Neurodiversity in School Children” at Humera Khan College of Education for 35-40 students and their teachers.

🌺Our members Dr Srushti Gandhi (Developmental paediatrician) and Dr Jagruti Sanghvi were invited to sensitize the pupil-teachers to identify various learning disabilities and encouraged to develop an empathetic attitude and an inclusive school environment for these invisible disabilities. There were a number of spot activities and the students received a handout of “what teachers can do to understand and mould their path”, and how to lead from “labelling to enabling” these neurodiverse students.

🌺The session was very well-appreciated by all. It was coordinated by Dr Avani Kanakia from Humera Khan College of Education and by Dr Jagruti Sanghvi on behalf of team IAP Mumbai.
