Newborn First Breath Initiative (NFBI)

🌸 IAP Mumbai organised a Basic NRP Sensitisation Session under the NFBI initiative at Karuna Hospital, Borivali West on 23rd March 2026.

🌸 The session was conducted by Dr Arpita Vakil, Sr Poonam Rami and Dr Nita Jagad. The importance of mastering neonatal resuscitation skills was emphasised. The faculty covered the initial steps of resuscitation and positive pressure ventilation in detail, along with hands-on training. The participants were highly interactive and enthusiastic to learn these lifesaving skills.

🌸 The session was attended by 80 participants, including staff nurses, sisters-in-charge, maushis, ward boys and pediatricians.

🌸 The program was coordinated by Dr Geetanjali Puthran on behalf of Karuna Hospital and Dr Nita Jagad on behalf of IAP Mumbai.
