Newborn First Breath Initiative (NFBI)

🌸 IAP Mumbai organised a NFBI session at Advanced Multispecialty Hospital, Vile Parle on 3rd April 2026.

🌸 The session was conducted by Dr Rajesh Kasla and Staff Nurse Poonam. The importance of timely and effective neonatal resuscitation was emphasised, with special focus on managing the “golden minute”. Participants received hands-on training using mannequins along with demonstration of essential equipment.

🌸 The session was attended by 26 enthusiastic participants, including labour room attendants and nursing staff.

🌸 An equipment chart and flowchart for management of “a baby who doesn’t breathe” in the first minute of life were provided to the labour room team. All participants were awarded certificates of participation.

🌸 The program was coordinated by Dr Jagruti Sanghvi on behalf of IAP Mumbai.
