Newborn First Breath Initiative (NFBI)

🌺IAP MUMBAI has started program – NFBI in 2026 for maternity homes. This is to emphasise on training staff to make skilled team to take right actions at birth where every second matters. A session was organised at United Hospital under the same initiative on 13 February 2026.

🌺 Dr Rajesh Kasla, Dr Vishal Jha and Dr Arpita Shah gave practical hands on training to the staff, right from preparing for the newborn arrival, how to receive baby, routine care and what steps to be taken when resuscitation is required.
Handouts for the required equipments and the resuscitation steps were given to all the staff.
session was well attended and appreciated by all. 25 birth attendants participated in this hands-on training.
