Safe motherhood – Squatters Colony Maternity Hospital

🌺A health talk was organised on Safe motherhood, at Squatters Colony Maternity Hospital, Jogeshwari East. (MCGM hospital) by IAP Mumbai. The event was held on 9th May 2024.

🌺70 antenatal mothers who visited the hospital in ANC OPD were present for the talk.

🌺Dr Sunila Jathar gave a talk on importance of Preconception counselling, preparing for conception, care to be taken during each trimester, iron folic acid suppliments,
diet, nutrition, hygiene, do’s and don’ts during pregnancy and vaccines during pregnancy.

🌺Dr Nita Jagad explained about exercise, pranayam and activity during pregnancy, sleep and healthy diet, postpartum depression and preparing for breastfeeding, developing emotional connection with the newborn baby and emotional management during post partum period.

🌺Dr Shabari explained about spacing before next pregnancy and use of family planning methods and devices.

🌺The event was coordinated by Dr Nita Jagad and Dr Arpita Vakil on behalf of IAP Mumbai and Dr Shabari Pukar (obstetrician and gynecologist) on behalf of Squatters Colony Maternity Hospital.

🌺We also thank MO Incharge Dr Pukar, Sr Incharge Ms Ankita Pednekar and entire staff of Squatters Colony Municipal Maternity Hospital for their help and their keen interest in learning.
