World Autism Awareness Day – Family Guidance for Children of Autism

<p><!-- wp:paragraph --></p> <p>🌺 To commemorate World Autism Awareness Day, IAP Mumbai along with the Management of Cross Disability Early Intervention Centre/ Ali Yavar Jung Institute, organized an interactive session for parents of children with ASD on the 5th April 2024. The topic of discussion was Family Guidance for Children of Autism.</p> <p><!-- /wp:paragraph --></p> <p><!-- wp:paragraph --></p> <p>🌺The session started with the Institute coordinator Ms Punam introducing the subject and speakers, Dr Harvinder Kaur Palaha and Dr Reepa Aggarwal.<br />Both speakers were welcomed by chief educator, Dr Ms Bajwa</p> <p><!-- /wp:paragraph --></p> <p><!-- wp:paragraph --></p> <p>🌺Dr Reepa Aggarwal delivered an interesting and interactive talk on Nutrition and Toilet training.<br />The talk was peppered with personal experiences and was very interactive.The highlight of the talk was a story to emphasize the importance of toilet training.<br />Dr Reepa led the audience through various issues of nutrition in autism like refusal of food, chewing difficulties, food preferences and explained how a balanced diet can be given.
