World Breastfeeding Week

🌺As part of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1st–7th), a Breastfeeding awareness session was conducted on 14th August 2025 at Akurli Municipal Maternity Hospital.

🌺Dr Arpita Vakil and Dr Nita Jagad conducted a breastfeeding education session for mothers visiting the ANC OPD. They were informed about the need for regular visits to ANC, nutrition, and vaccination for mother and baby. Initiation of breastfeeding, importance, and benefits of breastfeeding for mother and baby. Also, the good latching, common problems faced while breastfeeding, and it’s management was explained. They were told about expression and storage of breastmilk if needed. Attendees were also told about weaning foods at 6 months of age. Dr Apoorva, MO incharge was also present for the session

🌺There were about 15-17 mothers for the session

🌺The session was coordinated by Dr Nita Jagad on behalf of IAP Mumbai and Dr Apoorva on behalf of Akurli municipal maternity hospital
