World Breastfeeding Week

🌸The Department of Pediatrics, TNMC and BYL Nair Hospital in collaboration with IAP Mumbai and MBPC celebrated the World Breastfeeding Week in the form of 2 half day workshop on Breast Feeding, IYCN, HMB & KMC for the postgraduate residents on the 10 & 11 August, 2026.

🌸The workshop was inaugurated by HOD & Professor Dr Surbhi Rathi, Dr Rekha Udani, Dr Sushma Malik, Dr Sushma Save and with all the faculties of the Department of Pediatrics. It covered various aspects of Breastfeeding by expert faculty Dr Kailas Randad Associate Professor & In-Charge NICU, Dr Sushma Malik ex HOD and Professor, Dr Rekha Udani, Ex-HOD and Professor Neonatology at Seth GSMC and KEM Hospital, Dr Surbhi Rathi HOD & Professor, Dr Alpana Kondekar, Professor Additional, Dr Vishal Sawant,Assistant Professor NICU & Dr Neha Bhongale, Assistant Professor.

🌸Day 2 of the workshop started with recap of the 1st day topics by Dr Sushma Save, Professor Additional, followed by other topics taken by Dr Poonam Wade, Professor Additional, Dr Jaya Khatri, Assistant Professor NICU and Dr Anushka P, Assistant Professor & Dipti Shah, Lactation Consultant.

🌸The workshop had interesting case studies and role plays with active participation from the students, and faculty as well. It was highly appreciated by all the attendees. A total of 50 participants from the departments of Pediatrics, Community Medicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy actively engaged in the program.

🌸The entire program was coordinated by Dr Sushma Save, Dr Jaya Khatri & Dr Anjali, senior resident with the support and encouragement from Dr Surbhi Rathi and Dean Dr Shailesh Mohite.
