World TB Day

🌺On occasion of World TB Day, IAP Mumbai in collaboration with the Pediatric Department, Sir JJ group of hospitals, Mumbai, organized an event for the children affected with TB and an awareness session for their parents and the nurses, resident doctors and the paramedical staff of the Pediatric department, Sir JJ group of hospitals.

🌺A drawing competition was organized for the TB affected children of 2 age groups, below 8 and above 8 years. They were given drawing and coloring materials and the 3 best entries in each category were given prizes. There were sessions to teach them basic chest physiotherapy and breathing exercises to improve lung compliance along with an interactive session with the psychologist. Interesting skits on awareness of TB disease and its prevention. Nutritional packets were distributed by a social worker to all patients.

🌺The event was attended by about 100 people including TB patients with active participation even of the youngest patients.

🌺IAP Mumbai expresses special thanks to Dean, Dr Ajay Bhandarwar, Dr Chhaya Valvi HOD Pediatrics and Vice Dean and Med Superintendent, Dr Surase to give us permission and grace the event by their presence.

🌺The entire event was organised by Dr Sushant Mane on behalf of Sir JJ group of hospitals and co ordinated by Dr Nehal Shah on behalf of IAP Mumbai.
