World Thalassemia Day

🌺On the occasion of World Thalassemia Day celebrations, a talk was organized to sensitize the need for universal antenatal screening for Thalassemia for the Obstetricians of Cloud Nine Hospital on a zoom platform by IAP Mumbai.

🌺Dr Parth Ganatra, practicing pediatrician gave an overview of Thalassemia and its incidence prevalence in high risk Indian communities. He discussed about antenatal carrier screening and preventive strategies.
The session was followed by Q & A session which was well received by all.

🌺All the 45 obstetrician colleagues attending the online session committed to implementing a Thalassemia screening test in all antenatal mothers registered with them.

🌺The talk was organized by Dr Tanushree Mukherjee on behalf of Team IAP Mumbai.
